how to save yourself from feeling slumped this christmas!

Image
Okay so after every Christmas meal I think we've all felt a bit sluggish and sometimes even fall asleep, well this Christmas, I vow to be awake for the whole thing! And so should you, Christmas only comes once a year and we should spend as much time with our loved ones as possible.  So how do we go about this: 1) Eat a raw vegan breakfast!  - Do not get scared by the word vegan or raw , it's not scary I promise! There are tons and tons of recipes for eating raw and one of my absolute favourite breakfast's is a banana "nice" cream smoothie! It gives me so much energy and a lot of fibre which is perfect for getting rid of the crap you've eaten the day before and perfect to help you not to become sluggish during the day. So what you will need is: - 4 Bananas - A non dairy milk of your choice (I used Almond, but for added flavour try coconut) - optional -  a dash of cinnamon step one - peel and chop up two bananas and freeze them over night. step...

How to repair coloured and bleached hair!

Image
*Before you read this article, I understand that I have a number of people who read my blogs outside of the U.K. so I am using the English U.K. version of spelling so words like "color" will be spelt "colour"*   So, I kind of known to my friends and family as this hippie, vegan, recycling, save the planet and mankind type of person, no chemicals and all natural things only and for the most part that is actually true! However, I have a confession to make I am guilty of using chemicals in my hair for over 6 years. Bottom line is I love to dye my hair! And at least once a week I contemplate on dying it. This obsession started when I was 16 and I wanted a change as I was starting college, and so I dyed my hair purple So after the rebellious rocker in me was done with the purple I wanted something way more "out there" so I opted for bright red!   oh how embarrassing this pic is, and how modelesque I thought I was ... anyways, It wasn't long ti...

Unblock your nose with ONE WEIRD TRICK!

Image
This week has been hell for me quite frankly, my sinuses have been acting up and I'm constantly blowing my nose and even though there is a lot coming out, I was feeling no relief. It was probably around 2 or 3 o'clock in the morning when I decided to look up some natural solutions to unblock my nose. So here is what I found out and tried: 1) Avoid eating dairy, (so no cheese, eggs, milk from animals such as cows milk or goats milk). 2) make sure you clean your living space often especially if your area is prone to dust. 3) Get as much ventilation as possible, so open up windows or go outside when its convenient for you. The Treatment You will need: 1) a nasal pot or a teapot (that you don't use) with a long spout 2) Salt 3) Distilled or pre-boiled water or luke warm boiled water (DO NOT USE REGULAR WATER FROM THE SINK UNLESS YOU HAVE BOILED IT) So your going to grab your nasal pot or a teapot, and just fill it all the way to the top with your d...

sensitive breasts: The cause of too much oestrogen?

Image
For as least 5 years there have been times where I experienced extreme pain in my breasts, I looked up everything and basically everybody associated the pain with growing pains, and me being at a certain age, I knew that it had to be more than that. I decided to go to the Doctor (after many years of avoiding them) he told me it had something to sexual attraction and I explained to him that this was not triggered by that, it was a spontaneous pain that happened at any point in the day, it was sharp pains in my breasts particularly my nipples were extremely sensitive, I couldn't wear certain clothes because the friction between my nipples and my clothes would be extremely sore. So after the Doctor insisted that it was that and absolutely nothing else I realized I had to dig deeper myself. So the next search I'd done, I focused on hormones, thinking that may be the root of my problem. So, after looking into it I figured out that the pain was the  result of too much oestrog...

1 EASY SOLUTION FOR SLEEPING IN HOT WEATHER!

Image
Two nights ago, I was absolutely frustrated at the fact that I could not sleep because it was way too hot. Which made me think, what would make me cooler? So I tried all sorts of things, I took off my covers, I wore less clothes, I had my window opened, I drank water before going to bed and even taking cold showers didn't last. Now if you have the privilege of having air conditioning in your house, congratulations you are fortunate and I also hate you (sorry, not sorry).  Here in England, it is not the most common thing for the everyday person to have air conditioning in their homes because England has mostly crappy weather. We are more concerned about getting warmer than cooler.  However, in summers like these we are all complaining about the extreme humidity and need something to keep us cooler for longer. long story short, something in me snapped, and instantly I knew this would work guaranteed. The secret? my good old friend: Peppermint oil.  Why did...

HAIR MYTH OR TRUTH?: Do the foods we eat contribute to our hair?

Image
It is no secret that what we eat affects us both internally and externally, but are there particular foods that do specific things for our hair? The answer to that is YES. What's even better is that all this hair can be put into simple categories, so it's easier for you to remember what you have to focus on for your hair.       First thing first, your hair, body and skin loves micro-nutrient foods (fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds) so having a huge intake of that daily will increase the growth rate, strength and overall health of your hair. My suggestion is to juice the ingredients that will be listed below just so that it's super easy to digest and you don't have to physically chew anything (plus juicing helps the food to go straight to your bloodstream). so here's what your going to need to get your hair at maximum health! I'm listing them in categories of hair worries!  - GREY HAIRS Grey hairs do come with age, so you can't prevent it all tog...

How to be in tune with your body!

Image
We are in the middle of January and I'm so surprised at how people are already giving up on their resolutions, particularly those who are trying to be more health conscious. Today's article will not be about how to get into shape or how to get your favourite celebrity's body, instead we are going to focus on what your body is telling you that it needs and what it does not need!  FIRST: Ask yourself what are you suffering from or what do you feel you need to change? (this can be physical or mental) For myself, I've been suffering with my sinuses my whole life and i would always have a temporary solution, but that was never good enough. My body was telling me that something I was taking was not agreeing with my body, once I found out that dairy was causing my problem, like most of us I did not give it up. I was a stubborn mule and I loved cheese, but because of my stubbornness the inside of my nose was swollen and I had to put my health first, so I cut down on...
