how to save yourself from feeling slumped this christmas!
Okay so after every Christmas meal I think we've all felt a bit sluggish and sometimes even fall asleep, well this Christmas, I vow to be awake for the whole thing! And so should you, Christmas only comes once a year and we should spend as much time with our loved ones as possible.
So how do we go about this:
1) Eat a raw vegan breakfast!
- Do not get scared by the word vegan or raw, it's not scary I promise! There are tons and tons of recipes for eating raw and one of my absolute favourite breakfast's is a banana "nice" cream smoothie! It gives me so much energy and a lot of fibre which is perfect for getting rid of the crap you've eaten the day before and perfect to help you not to become sluggish during the day.
So what you will need is:
- 4 Bananas
- A non dairy milk of your choice (I used Almond, but for added flavour try coconut)
- optional - a dash of cinnamon
step one - peel and chop up two bananas and freeze them over night.
step two - grab your food processor or whatever it is that you use to make smoothies and add the frozen bananas and chop up the two left over fresh bananas and add that to the food processor
step three - add as much milk as you like over the bananas if you want it more on the runny side add more milk, if you want it more creamy add less milk.
Step four - blend to your hearts desire and if you like add a dash of cinnamon for added flavour or add any spice and drink up!
of course there are other recipes out there and you can find them all over social media or right here.
2) Be strategic when you eat Christmas dinner
- I KNOW we all want massive portions like every year but remember these things
- Drinking peppermint tea and Fennel tea will release you from stomach pains and will make you release gas and make you feel at ease particular those who eat animal products, give it 15 minutes after you've eaten and take those teas and it will help you feel much better.
* If you don't have any of those teas then just drink a lot of water this will also help shift the bowels and allow you to digest your food better.
Hope this helps guys and for those celebrating merry Christmas, and a happy new year!

- I KNOW we all want massive portions like every year but remember these things
- If you want to try everything then eat smaller portions of each individual dish
- eat until your full not because you want to eat what is on your plate, just save your plate for later
- it's okay to leave some food for the next day so if your afraid that none of the food will last take some aside for tomorrow (only if your hosting Christmas dinner otherwise that is just plain greedy and rude as I don't know what!)
