HAIR MYTH OR TRUTH?: Do the foods we eat contribute to our hair?

It is no secret that what we eat affects us both internally and externally, but are there particular foods that do specific things for our hair? The answer to that is YES.

What's even better is that all this hair can be put into simple categories, so it's easier for you to remember what you have to focus on for your hair.

First thing first, your hair, body and skin loves micro-nutrient foods (fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds) so having a huge intake of that daily will increase the growth rate, strength and overall health of your hair.

My suggestion is to juice the ingredients that will be listed below just so that it's super easy to digest and you don't have to physically chew anything (plus juicing helps the food to go straight to your bloodstream).

so here's what your going to need to get your hair at maximum health! I'm listing them in categories of hair worries!

 - GREY HAIRS
Grey hairs do come with age, so you can't prevent it all together, but you can reduce it significantly by eating foods enriched in vitamin B, so think ORANGE and RED foods.
so foods like PUMPKIN, PAPAYA, BUTTERNUT SQUASH, ORANGES, WATERMELON, TOMATOES, SWEET POTATO ect.

- WEAK HAIR STRANDS/ BREAKAGE
Many of us have got damaged hair and in fact I get questions all the time on how to help revert or help with damaged hair. One thing you may be lacking is Vitamin C, so instead of giving you a bunch of citrus foods, I'm going to give you added protein for super strength of hair so I encourage you to think GREEN foods. Foods such as PEAS, KIWI, BROCCOLI, KALE, ect. (of course you can eat citrus fruits but the foods I have listed have much more protein which contribute to hair strength).

- HAIR GROWTH
This is the biggest "dilemma" that everyone seems to message me about, personally I would love everyone to embrace their hair texture at every growth stage. Learn to love and get to know your hair, get to know what it loves and hates. However, I can not write this article without addressing hair growth, so the vitamin that is essential here is vitamin K so think DARK GREEN and WHITE, so foods such as CAULIFLOWER, KALE, FRESH HERBS,CUCUMBER, ASPARAGUS ect.

Now, of course there are other foods outside of the colours I mentioned that will give help you with all three problems, but I chose the colour system to make it easier to remember.

Also I want to put in mind that you'll benefit more from eating the foods raw (uncooked), simply because the more you cook foods, the more the nutrients die, that why I suggest juicing and looking at raw recipies online.
and if you want a more detailed video description of why fruits and vegetables aid your hair then click here

I really hope this helps guys, don't forget to share, comment and let me know what you think.

Peace and hair grease,
