We've also had our fair share of trial and error when it comes to getting rid of the pain, there are pills, hot water bottles and heat pads but sometimes those fail and we end up still with that awful pain, well to almost every problem there's a natural solution!
So I'm going to give you at least 5 ways to help bring down the pain you feel during your period:
- Gentle exercise: I know that this is the last thing some of us want to do on our period, but this is one of the best tips on the list, women who regularly exercise tend to have less pain during their periods, but remember this is a time where we can get tired easily so do not push yourself too hard, try walks, or gentle yoga or very light cardio.
- Juice: Juicing is now becoming a trend, I'm sure a lot of us are becoming familiar with people who juice regularly for different health reasons, some fruits and vegetables seem to have a good effect on getting rid of those cramps, try parsley and carrot juice and if you like add another vegetable of your choice to the mix.
- Molasses: Molasses is a product of sugar, as a child my mother used to make me eat a spoonful a day and this helped me boost my energy and helped a lot when I got older during my periods. If you cannot eat a spoonful try chasing it down with a juice of your choice to get rid of the taste quickly, its not exactly the nicest taste after all.
- Drink Herbal tea: Till this day whenever my period gets really bad I'll pick some fresh sage from the garden and boil it into a tea, personally this is my favourite remedy. Other alternatives are peppermint or chamomile tea all three bring a nice soothing calming affect to help ease the pain.
- Use Heat: We all have a hot water bottle, you already know where to put it, but try soaking your feet in hot water, or put a hot towel on your feet. This increases circulation and relieves that pain and also makes you feel more relaxed.
